Crusading For Carers

Reading carer Dave Warren has launched a campaign he is calling 'Crusading for Carers'.

The aim of the campaign is to help Crusaders Rugby League club survive and help a deserving young carer enjoy a season of live sport.

As a sports fan Dave knows what it is like to see your home town club struggle to survive. As a carer he has experienced the struggles associated
with that role.

Dave has followed the history of Crusaders Rugby League clubs attempts to establish themselves as a top class rugby league team playing in a country where rugby union dominates.

Sadly Crusaders recently had to resign from the top flight of rugby league and have now applied to join the cooperative championship for next season.
For their application to succeed they need pledges to buy season tickets for 2012. Dave has pledged to buy a junior season ticket and wants
to donate it to a deserving young carer.

The local paper the Wrexham leader have agreed to publicise this and Dave hopes to start hearing from young carers soon.

There is also a Facebook page 'Crusading for Carers' and a number of carers groups are very supportive of this initiative.
