  1. Chief Executive’s message
    • Health and social care are at a crossroads. Two more reports in recent days – one from the CBI and one from the Care Quality Commission – add new detail to the picture: much that has got better in recent years (can it be sustained?); frustrating variability in quality, access, safety and person-centredness. And right now: worrying risks in a new era of belt-tightening.
    • With change accelerating, patients, families and citizens need to be centre stage. These are our services: share the power! National Voices will be pushing for three reforms: (a) a feedback and complaints system that encourages, acts on and learns from patient comment; (b) clear principles for patient focus and involvement in major service change; (c) patient-focus to be a much stronger strand of standard-setting, training and regulation of health professionals. Watch this space...

    • Get LINked up
      • Chief executives are encouraged to form a good relationship with their Local Involvement Network (LINk).
