County-wide network of over 120 locality based disability support clubs. The network serves over 11,000 individuals having a wide range of disabilities. Information Advice and Guidance, in partnership with Disability East (www.disabilityeast.org) covering the East of England. Market Research and IT software development, in partnership with London Metropolitan University. Outreach health and well-being screening and advice service with adapted accessible mini-buses operated by nurse practitioners. Outreach support and activities for child and adult carers of disabled people (www.healthyarts.org). Accredited Training Centre (OCN and ncfe) to level 3 for vocational qualifications in Disability associated issues. Training and HQ building is Passivhaus/BREEAM 2009 Excellent accredited for low energy and sustainability (www.centrefordisabilitystudies.org). The charity was first registered in 1949.

The LDN Research Trust was set up by a small core of people who have Multiple Sclerosis. The primary aim of the Trust is to initiate Clinical Trials of Low Dose Naltrexone.

6   Link   The Mobility Roadshow
2010 is a bumper year for the Mobility Roadshow. There are two events: 1st, 2nd and 3rd July at the East of England Showground, Peterborough - for the first time in the East of England - and 17th and 18th September at the Royal Highland Centre near Edinburgh. The Mobility Roadshow is the UK’s original and premier hands-on event, which has been showcasing mobility innovation for over 25 years. Each year there is an excellent array of products designed to make life easier for people with disabilities and older people who are not quite as agile as they once were.

The Neurosupport Centre is run by an independent charitable trust, Neurosupport, and was built with funds from generous donations of £1,000,000 from Glaxo plc and £250,000 from the Liverpool City Challenge. Working for a world where there are fewer strokes and all those touched by stroke get the help they need.
Every year an estimated 150,000 people in the UK have a stroke. Of all people who suffer from a stroke, about a third are likely to die within the first 10 days, about a third are likely to make a recovery within one month and about a third are likely to be left disabled and needing rehabilitation.

'Your Call' is a free telephone counselling service which is open to disabled people from all over Scotland. The 'Your Call' counsellors are all disabled people themselves, providing them with an understanding of what it means to live as a disabled person in Scotland. The counsellors work as volunteers, and are trained to a professional standard in counselling.
